There’s a Japanese phrase :
“ KOI NO YOKAN “
恋の予感 (こいのよかん)
It doesn’t mean love at first sight.
It’s closer to love at second sight.
It’s the feeling when you meet someone that you’re going to fall in love with them.
Maybe you don’t love them right away, but it’s inevitable that you will. Well that is completely true with these two. Ando and Fio started out as friends.
LET’S START AT THE VERY BEGINNING….
Chapter 1 : THE FIRST GLANCE
“ What a plot twist you were.”
A long, long time ago.
In the bustling building of Ganesha Operation, Ando and Fio’s paths first crossed. They met “unexpectedly” during their end year of Senior High School in 2015. Their eyes met across the crowded hallway. They exchanged polite smiles, but nothing more. Little did they know, fate had other plans.
Chapter 2 : THE UNEXPECTED REUNION
“ They met again. Science and time machines failed. A single eye contact was all it took to travel the time. “
Suprisingly, they went to same college. It was June 26th , 2015, Fio saw Ando at orientation event. There’s a flicker of recognition , they quickly dismiss it as mere coincidence but Fio decided to go talk. However, Ando introduces himself with a charming smile and Fio’s heart skips a beat as she realizes that the man she’s been looking from afar is even more captivating up close.
Chapter 3 : THE UNSPOKEN FEELINGS
“ She know all my secrets, except one: that i’m in love with her “
As their time in medical school has progressed, day-to-day has only gotten more hectic and demanding. Their days were filled with lectures and labs. They bonded over study sessions and late-night conversations but amidst the chaos of their demanding schedules, they always found moments to steal away together.
As their friendship deepens, Ando and Fio find themselves caught in a whirlwind of confusion. There’s an unspoken language, a silent dialogue of hearts yearning to express what words cannot.
They were best friends and just friends, but everyone who looked at them when they were together knew they were something more. You could tell by the way she looked up at him like he was her world and by the way his smile radiated happiness when he looked at her. Everyone could see it, except them.
Chapter 4 : THE BREAKING POINT
“ Strange, isn’t it? Some lose their love because they confess, While others lose because they don’t. ”
Fio eventually asked Ando on a date & the two teenagers met in town. Milo dino, caramel popcorn, and mini pangsit with extra french fries, it was a great first date. They fit together like a puzzle (completely different pieces but perfectly in sync). From that date on… they were inseparable.
Until one day, Fio and her friends went to Yogyakarta. Ando’s jealousy reaches a breaking point when he knows Fio out with another guy. Seeing Fio took a picture with her friend triggers feelings of jealousy in him. Despite his best efforts to hide his feelings, Ando couldn’t deny the growing attraction he felt for Fio.
Caught in a tug-of-war between love and jealousy, Ando battles with his own insecurities. Determined to move on from his unrequited love, Ando tried to put some distance between himself and Fio. He threw himself into his studies, burying himself in the demands of his daily routine in the hopes that time would heal the wounds of his broken heart.
In the other side, Fio’s jealousy intensifies as she sees Ando spending time with other girls. She struggles to contain her emotions, but she knows that revealing her jealousy would only make things awkward between them and push him away. So she keeps them hidden, pretending to be unaffected by his interactions with other girls
Chapter 5: LOVE OVER HATE
“ He loves her more than she’ll ever know and she loves him more than he’ll ever show. What a tragedy “
They loved each other. Neither of them confessed.
They went from two texts a minute to two texts a month. They are sparking a connection that lay dormant until six months later.
As time passes, Ando and Fio begin to regret their silence. They wonder what could have
been if they had only been brave enough to speak their hearts’ desires, to lay bare their souls for the other to see.
Determined to make Fio’s birthday unforgettable, Ando begins brainstorming ideas for the perfect surprise. At that time, Ando was in Jakarta to attend the ISMKI event but he secretly booked a flight and arranged everything.
When Fio arrives at the EN restaurant, she is greeted not only by her friends but also by Ando, who is standing there with a smile that lights up her world. Fio’s heart skips a beat as she realizes what’s happening. She can’t believe he’s here, standing in front of her, on her birthday. It’s a moment she’ll cherish forever.
They learn to forgive each other and themselves, finding peace in the knowledge that their past does not define their future.
Chapter 6: WORTH THE WAIT
“ You are exactly precisely and perfectly what I waited for “
In the Kayana Restaurant, Fio finds a beautifully decorated table set for two, surrounded by fairy lights and the scent of her favorite flowers wafts through the air. Ando appears from behind a corner, a warm smile on his face. He leads her to the table and pulls out her chair, making her feel like a queen.
As they sit down to dinner, Fio is delighted to find that Ando has prepared all her favorite dishes. They laugh and talk as they enjoy their meal. As they embark on a late-night drive, Ando wrestles with his nerves, knowing that tonight is the night he’ll finally confess his feelings to Fio.
Finally, he tells her how much she means to him and how grateful he is to have her by his side. Ando makes a promise to Fio—that he will always cherish and love her, no matter what life may bring. With bated breath, he waited for her response, his heart pounding in his chest. Fio smiles through her tears, knowing that she has found her forever in him.
Chapter 7: ACROSS THE MILES
“But you are 149.6 million km away,” Earth sighed. “ Distance never has and never will, stop me from making you feel warm,” smiled Sun.
They had a long distance relationship for about a year when Ando moved to Bengkulu for his internsip medical program and Fio was accepted into the police academy in Semarang.
As Ando and Fio bid each other farewell at the airport, their hearts heavy with the weight of impending distance, they promise to stay connected despite the miles that will soon separate them.
Fio’s first day at the police academy was overwhelming. The rigorous schedule left little time for anything outside of training. Physical drills, academic classes, and practical exercises filled her days, often extending into the evenings.
Ando, on the other hand, was adjusting to life without Fio’s physical presence. He threw himself into his work and hobbies, but there was always a void that only Fio could fill.
As the weeks turned into months, both Ando and Fio adapted to their new normal. With 679 miles between them, Ando and Fio make every effort to see each other whenever they can. Through late-night phone calls and occasional visits, their bond only grew stronger with time.
Chapter 8: DIFFICULT ROADS
“Apart” Mind said
“A part” Heart corrected.
As Ando and Fio settle into their new lives in separate cities, they face the challenges of
maintaining their relationship from a distance. They struggle with time zone differences, busy schedules, and the loneliness that comes from being apart.
Misunderstandings arose from text messages and video calls sometimes felt inadequate to
convey the depth of their emotions. Ando and Fio grappled with trust issues. Insecurities arose from not being able to see each other’s daily lives, leading to moments of jealousy and doubt.
Chapter 9: THE PERFECT MATCH
“Loving you was the second best thing I ever did,”
“What was the first?”
“Finding you,” he smiled.
Ando and Fio’s long-distance journey comes to an end. July 18th, 2023, graduation day was a monumental occasion. Fio stood tall in her uniform,
her heart swelling with pride and accomplishment. As she received her badge, she spotted
Ando in the audience, beaming with pride. After the ceremony, they embraced tightly, the months of separation melting away in that moment of triumph.
Through their long-distance journey, Ando and Fiona discovered the true meaning of
commitment and love. Fio’s journey at the police academy had been transformative, not
just for her career but for their relationship as well. They emerged from the experience
stronger and more united, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, side by side.
Chapter 10: THE BRIDGE ACROSS FOREVER
“You took my heart away.
What else do you want to take from me?” he smiled.
“How about your last name?”
January 12th, 2024, at the Emerald Ballroom Aston Palu, together with their families, two
hearts engaged. Ando knelt on one knee and took a sparkling diamond ring from velvet
box, he looked up at her with all the love in his heart. “Fio, will you marry me?”
Finally, after what feels like an eternity, after 8 years of knowing they were meant to be
together all along, Ando asked Fio to be his wife. Fio knew without a doubt that she was
saying YES to a lifetime of love, the man who had been by her side since 2015.
It’s been a crazy-fun ride and they are excited to start their new life together.
This is the condensed version of how God brought these two together.
Ando & Fio will tie the knot on August 24th, 2024 in Palu.
They kindly ask you to save the date and join them to celebrate their love.
